POLPORA Chrobry |
The year 2025 brings special anniversaries for Poland – the 1000th anniversary of the Kingdom of Poland and the millennium of the coronation and death of Bolesław Chrobry, the first king of Poland, who strengthened the foundations of our statehood. To commemorate these landmark events and the figure whose determination and strength shaped the course of Polish history, we have created a new, elegant mechanical watch – POLPORA Chrobry.
In this project, we refer to the majesty of royal power and the symbolism of state continuity. The heart of the watch is a hand-wound Swiss movement with a discreet power reserve complication – subtle yet remarkably functional, highly appreciated by enthusiasts of traditional watchmaking. Each turn of the crown animates the rotating subdial of the power reserve indicator, serving as a reminder of the manual winding mechanism that echoes craftsmanship and the strength of tradition.
On the dial’s lower part, we placed a three-dimensional golden crown adorned with red and green markers reminiscent of jewels set in royal regalia. These markers also correspond to the remaining power reserve – red for low and green for high. Beneath the crown lies the model’s main complication – a subdial indicating the remaining power reserve.
The dial background features our signature glossy white finish, reminiscent of fine porcelain. On the base dial, we placed two golden rings – the inner one with Roman hour numerals and the outer one with a clear minute track. The cutouts in the ring create the effect of white minute indices, while the five-minute intervals are marked by raised black glossy paint. The same black color is used for the historic POLPORA logotype (used since 2006), the model name CHROBRY, and the subtle “Made in Poland” inscription. The entire design ensures excellent legibility and quick time reading.
The dial is enclosed in a 40-millimeter stainless steel case combining alternating brushed and polished surfaces. The model gains exceptional elegance from its domed sapphire crystal, which gently refracts light and recalls glass domes protecting royal insignia. The glass constitutes over one-third of the watch’s total thickness, uniquely exposing the dial while minimizing the bezel width. As a result, the case of the Chrobry model is only 7 millimeters thick.
Beneath the sapphire exhibition caseback beats a hand-wound Swiss Sellita SW270-1M movement, set on 18 jewels, decorated with blued screws, and finished with perlage and Geneva stripes. This Swiss construction includes a power reserve complication and comes adjusted to Top regulation. The movement is mounted in the case using a dedicated decorative holder – galvanically finished in glossy silver and adorned with the POLPORA logo. Each timepiece is precisely regulated in our manufacture after final assembly before being delivered to its owner.
The watch is paired with an elegant black semi-matte crocodile leather strap featuring ventilation perforations and a fabric loop stabilizing the keeper – offering both comfort and a sense of classic royal distinction.
The Chrobry model comes in a handcrafted mahogany and grey-fabric box, which includes a practical suede pocket for documents. The entire set is wrapped in a special sleeve adorned with golden print referencing the coronation of Poland’s first king.
Like every watch from our manufacture, Chrobry is a limited-edition model – exactly 150 pieces will be produced, each with an individual number.
